Abstract

This thesis is entitled "The Influence of Leadership, Work Discipline and Work Environment on the Performance of Education Staff at the Kupang State Polytechnic Mediated by Motivation", written by Fechri Panie NIM: 811212016/MM, under the guidance of Dr. Simon Sia Niha, SE., M.Si and P. Dr. Paskalis Seran, SVD, Dipl. Theol., MBA. The problems that occurred at the Kupang State Polytechnic based on initial interviews were still a lack of appreciation and sanctions for employee performance, poor relationships between employees, lack of discipline of education personnel and lack of compliance with applicable regulations in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. This research has a number of objectives as follows. (1) To determine the influence of the significance of leadership, work discipline, work environment and motivation on the performance of education staff at the Kupang State Polytechnic. (2) To determine the influence of the significance of leadership, work discipline and work environment on motivation at the Kupang State Polytechnic. (3) To determine the influence of the significance of leadership, work discipline and work environment on the performance of education personnel through motivation at the Kupang State Polytechnic. The population in this study is all employees of the Kupang State Polytechnic education staff totaling 89 people. There are 2 analyses used, namely descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis using the SEM-PLS application. The results of the study show that leadership, work discipline and work environment directly have a significant effect on the motivation and performance of education staff at the Kupang State Polytechnic. Motivation has a significant effect on the performance of education staff. Motivation is able to mediate the influence of leadership and work discipline on the performance of education personnel but is not able to mediate the influence of the work environment on the performance of education personnel Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that the Kupang State Polytechnic apply an appropriate reward and punishment system. Improving the quality of the physical and non-physical work environment which will affect the performance of education personnel. Agenda office gathering activities that can improve work motivation and work relations for education staff
