Abstract

The thesis entitiled “The Effect of Work Motivation, Leadership Style, Work Discipline and Work Environment on the Employees’ Performance at Public Works and Public Housing Department, Section of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Development, NTT Province“ is written by Liany Adriana Putri Mitak Fomeni, Reg. No. 8112191025MM, under the supervision of Dr. Stanis Man, SE., M,Si and Drs. Ec. Gaudensius Djuang., MM. The employees’ performance is an important element for both institution and enterprise to achieve their goals. Therefore, this performance should be taken care of to develop into a better organization. The current problem in this organization is the unsatisfied performance viewed from the realization of those main jobs in Budget Year 2019/2020 that did not meet the target. The employees’ high performance is estimated being influenced by some factors such as work motivation, leadership style, work discipline and work environment. The statement of the problems in this study is as follow: What is the respondents’ perception about work motivation, leadership style, work discipline and work environment and their effect on the employees’ performance at Public Works and Public Housing Department, Section of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Development, NTT Province? The population in this study is 35 employees at Public Works and Public Housing Department, Section of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Development, NTT Province. The data are collected using an interview guide, observation, documentation study and a questionnaire. The collected data are then analyzed applying descriptive and inferential statistic. The results of descriptive statistic analysis indicate that work motivation, work discipline, and work environment are categorized as very good, while leadership style is good. The results of inferential statistic analysis show that the following hypotheses are accepted namely work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employees’ performance, leadership style has a positive and significant effect on employees’ perorance, work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employees’ performance, and work environment has a positive and significant effect on employees’ performance. Based on these results, it is recommended to the Section management of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Development, NTT Province to provide an opportunity for each employee to coordinate any activity, to let the employees make decision after consulting the management, to give sanction to undisciplined employees due to the late submission of their assignment, and to provide new facilities to replace the broken ones.
