Abstract

Labuan Bajo, as a premium tourist destination in Indonesia, continues to experience rapid development in the tourism and economic sectors. This development increases the need for facilities capable of supporting various national and international events, one of which is a Convention Center. Convention Centers are facilities designed to host various activities such as conferences, exhibitions, seminars, general meetings, and large-scale gatherings. Therefore, a Convention Center design is needed that can meet these needs while providing attractive and representative architectural value for the Labuan Bajo area. This final project aims to design a Convention Center at Pede Beach, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, by applying contemporary architectural principles relevant to the local environmental conditions. The research methods used are qualitative and quantitative, through data collection in the form of literature studies, precedent studies, field observations, and analysis of space requirements and site conditions. The results of this research are a planning and design concept for a Convention Center that integrates contemporary architectural principles, such as a dynamic building form, the use of modern materials, and functional and flexible spatial planning. The application of this concept is expected to produce a building design that not only meets the needs of convention activities but also supports tourism development and becomes an architectural icon in the Pede Beach area, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency.
