Abstract

Thesis Title : "Analysis of the Meaning and Presentation Form of the Woi Nange Song in the Ghang Woja Weru Traditional Ceremony in Lengkosambi Timur Village, Riung District, Ngada Regency." By Frederika Zaun (17122034), with Supervisor I Stanis Sanga Tolan, S.SN., M.Sn and Supervisor II Maria P. Purnamalon, S.Pd., M.Pd. The Ghang Woja Weru Traditional Ceremony is a harvest thanksgiving ritual for the Lengkosambi community which is carried out as an expression of gratitude to God. The Woi Nange song is an important part of the Ghang Woja Weru ceremony and is presented in the middle as a traditional vocal that is sacred and communal. The formulation of the problem in this study is: (1) What is the meaning of the Woi Nange song for the life of the community in Lengkosambi Timur Village, Riung District, Ngada Regency, (2) What is the form of presentation of the Woi Nange song in the harvest thanksgiving traditional ceremony in Lengkosambi Timur Village, Riung District, Ngada Regency. This study aims to determine (1) the meaning of the Woi Nange song for the lives of the people of Lengkosambi Timur Village, Riung District, Ngada Regency, and (2) the presentation of the Woi Nange song during the traditional harvest thanksgiving ceremony in Lengkosambi Timur Village, Riung District, Ngada Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Data were obtained through participatory observation, interviews with traditional elders and performers, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative data analysis technique that manages and analyzes the collected data into an orderly, structured, and meaningful form. The results of the study show that 1) The Woi Nange song is presented in the form of vocals where they respond to each other in a circular formation without musical accompaniment. 2) This song has the meaning of honesty, respect for others, humility, and assertiveness. The Woi Nange song is a work-motivating song that is usually sung during the traditional harvest thanksgiving ceremony after the traditional elders have stopped telling stories.
