Abstract

Drama arts education plays an important role in character development, particularly in building empathy, mutual respect, and social sensitivity. In this study, drama arts education is used as a means of preventing bullying and racism, which are prevalent in schools. These issues not only damage students' mental health but also impact their character development and social relationships. This study aims to determine the process and effectiveness of drama arts education through role-playing using the script “Black and White Behind a Student's Life” on students at SMPK Rosa Mystica Kupang. The role-playing method was chosen because it provides stu-dents with direct experience in understanding the roles of perpetrators, victims, and witness-es of bullying and racism. The research approach used was qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that drama arts learning can increase students' empathy, strengthen their understanding of the impact of bullying and racism, and shape attitudes of mutual respect for differences.
