Abstract

The increase in community activities in Kupang City has led to a growing demand for parking facilities, particularly in shopping center areas. Dutalia SuperStore, as one of the main commercial activity centers, experiences parking space limitations, especially for four-wheeled vehicles. This study aims to analyze parking characteristics and evaluate the adequacy of parking capacity at Dutalia SuperStore. The research method applied was a field survey with primary data collection, including parking volume, parking accumulation, parking duration, parking turnover, parking capacity, and parking index. Observations were conducted over six days, from Monday to Saturday, with a recording interval of 15 minutes. The results indicate that motorcycle parking facilities are still adequate, as shown by a parking index value below 100%. However, the parking index for four-wheeled vehicles exceeds 100%, indicating that the available parking capacity is insufficient to meet demand during certain periods. This condition leads to parking outside the designated areas and potentially disrupts traffic flow around the site. Therefore, reorganization and expansion of parking capacity for four-wheeled vehicles are necessary to improve user comfort and traffic safety.
