Abstract

Roko molas poco is a traditional where the best wood from the forest is collectively carried, a long with a girl sitting on top of the wood dressed in traditional manggarai attire. This wood later becomes the main pillar or support (siri bongkok) in the traditional house. This unique ceremony is a distinctive identitiy of the community’s culture, which motivated the author to conduct an in depth study. The main issue in this research are: (1).what the form of the presentation of the roko molas poco dance in roko molas poco ceremony in bere village, west cibal district, central manggarai regency;(2). What is the role of the roko molas poco dance in roko molas poco ceremony for the community in bere village, west cibal district, central manggarai regency?. The objectives of this research are to: (1). Describe the form of the presentation of the roko molas poco dance in the roko molas poco ceremony in bere village, west cibal district, central Manggarai regency; (2). Describe the role of the roko molas poco dance in the roko molas poco ceremony of the community in bere village, west cibal district, central manggarai regency. This research uses a qualitative approachwith an ethnographic research method. Data collection techniques in this research include interviews, observations,and documentation.
