Abstract
Thesis title: Profile of Guidance and Counseling Teacher Personality Competence According to the Perception of Grade VIII Students of SMPK St. Theresia Disamakan Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The problem of this research: How is the profile of guidance and counseling teacher personality competency according to the perception of grade VIII students of SMPK St. Theresia Disamakan Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year? The purpose of this research is to determine the profile of guidance and counseling teacher personality competency according to the perception of grade VIII students of SMPK St. Theresia Disamakan Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. The population of this research is 119 students and the research sample is 25% of the population of 31 people. The data analysis technique used is central tendency analysis. The results of the research data analysis show that the average score of the guidance and counseling teacher personality competency profile is 104.32 in the range of 104–135, which is included in the poor category. This can be concluded that the perception of grade VIII students is not good towards the guidance and counseling teacher personality competency. Based on the results of the analysis of research data as described, the researcher submits suggestions to the following parties: a) Principals are advised to improve the personality competency of BK teachers through training, coaching, regular evaluation, and providing support and motivation. b) BK teachers are expected to improve their personality competency by developing an attitude of faith and piety towards God Almighty, upholding human values, demonstrating strong integrity and personality stability, and striving to always provide optimal performance in every guidance and counseling service. c) Students are expected to be open, objective, and appreciate the role of BK teachers as companions in the process of personal and social development.
