Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages business actors to transform their business management in order to enhance competitiveness and improve service quality for customers. Ikan Asap Supel, a smoked fish business located in Kupang City, currently faces several operational challenges, particularly due to the use of manual sales recording systems and limited marketing reach. Therefore, a technology-based solution is required to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business management. This research aims to design and develop a web-based sales system as part of the digitalization effort for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The system development method used in this study is the Waterfall model, which consists of several stages: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system is developed using PHP Native as the programming language and MySQL as the database to store and manage various information related to sales activities. The results of the study indicate that the developed system successfully meets all previously defined functional requirements. Key modules such as product management, category management, customer data management, order processing, and automated transaction workflows operate effectively and are well integrated. Furthermore, the system improves transaction data transparency, reduces the potential for recording errors, and supports the expansion of online promotion for the Ikan Asap Supel business in a sustainable manner.
