Abstract
Woge dance is a traditional dance of the Nuanoka Village community, Ende Regency. This dance is danced as part of the traditional ritual of making keda kanga (bakli stone and traditional house) which is held every three years. In the Woge Dance, there is a unique attraction that is implicit in its unique foot movements and also the unique costumes worn by the dancers. The existence of this dance is not widely known by people outside Nuanoka Village. This is caused by the progress of the times or modernization that has an impact on the habits of society, including the younger generation, who tend to ignore traditional dances and rarely participate actively in traditional ceremonies. This causes the younger generation to not really understand the form of presentation of the Woge Dance. The formulation of the problem studied is how the form of presentation of the Woge Dance in the traditional ceremony of the Ende Lio community, Ende Regency. This study aims to determine the form of presentation of the Woge Dance in the traditional ceremony of the Ende Lio community, Ende Regency. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach using the ethnochoreography method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the Woge Dance is one of the typical dances from Nuanoka Village, Ndona Timur District, Ende Regency. Where this dance has unique foot movements and uniqueness of the costumes worn by the Woge dancers. Woge Dance has a floor design in the form of a circle. Woge Dance dancers are mosalaki or traditional elders who wear costumes or clothing, namely the mosalaki or traditional elders wear traditional Ende lio clothing, namely lambu (women's clothing) in red, Ragi (men's sarong), luka (woven shawl) and koli leaves (palm leaves) tied on the dancer's head and the shawl worn by the dancer by draping it over the shoulder or wrapped around the body. The meaning of the Woge dance movement is a symbol of sacred communication between humans, ancestors and the universe in the context of the traditional ceremony of the Ende Lio community in Nuanoka Village, Ende Regency. The Woge dance is performed on the site of a traditional house, and the dancers circle a kanga (bakli stone) and use eko wawi (pig's tail) as props.
