Abstract

Stunting is a serious public health problem in Kefamenanu City that requires accurate early detection. This study aims to design a web-based expert system for diagnosing stunting risk in toddlers using the Forward Chaining method with the Django framework. The system’s knowledge base consists of 9 rules and 25 symptom indicators obtained from a nutritionist at the Health Office of North Central Timor Regency (TTU). The system is equipped with an anthropometric measurement module based on the WHO Z-Score standard, growth trend visualization using Chart.js, and an internal automatic notification system for 30-day remeasurement reminders. System testing was conducted using User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to evaluate user acceptance of the system. The results indicate that the inference engine performs deterministic reasoning accurately by matching user symptom facts to six nutritional status conditions, and the system is well accepted by users. The system functions not only as a diagnostic tool but also as an effective instrument for monitoring child growth and development to support stunting prevention efforts in Kefamenanu City.
