Abstract

This research endeavors to outline the application of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles within the operational framework of the Ranaka Sejahtera Bersama Savings and Loan Cooperative, situated in Kupang City. The specific GCG tenets under consideration encompass transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and equity. The investigation utilized a qualitative methodology, adopting a descriptive research design. Data acquisition involved detailed interviews, observational methods, and the examination of pertinent documents. Subsequently, data analysis was performed utilizing the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data presentation, and the formulation of conclusions. The findings suggest that the execution of GCG principles at the Ranaka Sejahtera Bersama Cooperative has not yet attained full effectiveness. While transparency and accountability have been addressed through mechanisms such as the Annual Members Meeting (RAT) and financial statements, challenges persist in ensuring comprehensive information dissemination to all cooperative members. The concepts of accountability and autonomy have been put into practice; however, their effectiveness is hampered by a shortage of personnel and inadequate internal oversight. Concurrently, the principle of equity has not been uniformly enforced, notably in the administration of member deposits and the allocation of loans. In light of these observations, the research posits that to bolster the application of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) at the Ranaka Sejahtera Bersama Cooperative, it is imperative to augment managerial expertise, refine internal control systems, and foster greater engagement from members to ensure professional, transparent, and enduring cooperative management.
