Abstract

The management of boarding houses owned by a single owner across multiple locations often encounters challenges in managing tenant data, billing processes, and monitoring room availability efficiently. Manual management processes result in unintegrated data and difficulties in making fast and accurate decisions. This study aims to develop a web-based Boarding House Management Information System for Kos Asri that integrates data management across four different locations. The system is equipped with features for managing tenant data, rooms, reservations, staff, and automatic notifications via WhatsApp to support billing management and the delivery of important information. The system development method used in this study is the waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance phases. The system is developed using the Laravel framework for the backend and HTML, Bootstrap, and pure JavaScript for the frontend. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing to evaluate functional performance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to measure user acceptance. The results of Black Box Testing indicate that all main system features function properly and meet user requirements without any critical functional errors. Furthermore, the UAT results show a feasibility percentage of 87.83%, which falls into the “Very Good” category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed system is feasible for implementation and can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Kos Asri management while also providing convenience for prospective tenants to make real-time room reservations.
