Abstract

The Rote Ndao Regency Possesses A Unique Wealth Of Traditional Culture And Arts That Serve As The Community's Identity. However, The Development Of These Arts Is Still Hindered By The Lack Of Adequate Supporting Facilities For Performances, Exploration, And The Preservation Of Artistic Works In The Region. The Design Of The Arts Center In Ba'a City Aims To Provide A Representative Physical Space To Accommodate Artistic Activities, Entertainment, And The Creative Development Of Local Artists. The Design Method Employed Is The Vernacular Architecture Transformation Approach. This Approach Integrates Elements Of Local Rotenese Architecture, Such As The Roof Forms Of The Uma Leo Traditional House, Ikat Weaving Motifs, And The Spatial Organization Concepts Of Stilt Houses, Into A Functionally Modern Public Building Design. The Transformation Is Executed Through Stylization Methods On The Roof To Create Large Spatial Volumes And Natural Ventilation (Stack Effect), As Well As The Use Of Woven Patterns As A Secondary Skin That Functions As A Sunlight Filter. The Result Of This Design Is An Arts Center Concept That Not Only Meets The Standard Requirements For Performance Halls And Galleries But Also Reflects The Cultural Identity Of Rote Ndao. Through The Application Of Vernacular Elements And The Use Of Local Materials, This Building Is Expected To Strengthen The Community's Bond With Its Cultural Heritage, Promote Environmental Sustainability, And Serve As A Symbol Of Cultural Richness And A Tourism Attraction In Rote Ndao Regency.
