Abstract

This thesis, entitled Interpersonal Communication Strategies between Leaders and Members in Enhancing Active Member Participation, aims to analyze the interpersonal communication strategies employed by leaders to increase member participation in the Aktivitas Pendalaman Iman (API) Reinha Rosari Organization in Kupang. This study is motivated by the low level of member participation, which is caused by ineffective communication between leaders and members. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that leaders implement interpersonal communication strategies based on Transformational Leadership Theory through three main approaches: inspiring, motivating, and empowering members. These strategies are manifested through role modeling, the development of a shared vision, open communication, recognition and appreciation, as well as member involvement in work programs and decision-making processes. The conclusion of this study shows that effective interpersonal communication between leaders and members can significantly enhance active member participation. Therefore, organizational leaders are encouraged to continuously strengthen dialogic, participatory, and sustainable communication to support organizational continuity.
