Abstract

he development of information and communication technology encourages various institutions, including the police, to utilize digital media as a means of communicating and disseminating information to the public. The Public Relations of the Kupang City Police Department has an important role in building and improving the institution's image in the public eye through the use of Cyber Public Relations, namely through digital media, one of which is the website. This study aims to examine the Role of Cyber Public Relations of the Public Relations Section of the Kupang City Police Department in Improving the Institution's Image. This study uses the theory of Dozier and Broom, which consists of Expert Prescribers, Communication Facilitators, Problem Solving Process Facilitators, and Communication Technicians. This is a qualitative study using the case study method. Data for this study was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the role of Cyber Public Relations carried out by the Kupang City Police Public Relations in utilizing digital media, one of which is the website @tribratanewskupangkota.com as a means of disseminating information, education, clarifying issues, and publishing police activities, has been running well. This research is expected to serve as a reference for future studies, and it is hoped that subsequent researchers will explore Cyber Public Relations using different methods and theories to achieve more comprehensive results.
