Abstract

The Kakor Gore-Gore song is a song used in the Paki Manuk Wina Rona ritual ceremony by the Kempo community of Golo Ndoal Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency. The formulation of the problem in writing this thesis is (1) How is the process of implementing the Paki Manuk Wina Rona ritual of the Kempo community of Golo Ndoal Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency, (2) How is the form of presentation of the Kakor Gore-Gore song in the Paki Manuk Wina Rona traditional ceremony of the Kempo community of Golo Ndoal Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency. The objectives of this study are (1) To understand the process of implementing the Paki Manuk Wina Rona Ritual of the Kempo community of Golo Ndoal Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency, (2) To find out the form of presentation of the Kakor Gore-Gore song in the Paki Manuk Wina Rona ritual of the Kempo community of Golo Ndoal Village, Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with the ethnomusicology method. Data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Kakor Gore-Gore singing is performed during the Paki Manuk Wina Rona ritual. The Kakor Gore-Gore singing is powerful in conveying cultural messages, values of diversity and togetherness, as well as an invitation to uphold the values of life, adhere to social norms, and respect parents and fellow members of the community.
