Abstract

Oranges are an annual fruit plant originating from Asia. Oranges have been grown and cultivated in Indonesia for hundreds of years. So'e tangerines are one of the leading commodities in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The productivity of tangerines is still low and they bear fruit only once a year. The main obstacle in cultivating oranges is the threat of disease and the general symptoms are the plants withering or dropping leaves and lots of unhealthy fruit. This research aims to build an Expert System using the Forward Chaining method to overcome disease problems in tangerines experienced by farmers with a limited number of experts. This makes it difficult for farmers to consult about citrus diseases. The software development method used is the Expert System Life Cycle (ESLC) method. In building this system using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database. The expected result of this research is an Expert System to diagnose diseases in oranges and provide solutions and find out all information related to diseases in oranges.
