Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) in encouraging participatory community supervision in the 2024 General Election in Kupang City. As a fundamental pillar of democracy, elections require effective supervision not only by formal institutions but also through active public participation to ensure fair and honest implementation. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving Bawaslu of Kupang City and community members. The results indicate that Bawaslu of Kupang City has actively promoted participatory supervision through socialization programs, political education, mapping of vulnerable polling stations, and community involvement in election oversight. However, participatory supervision still faces several challenges, including low public awareness, limited resources, and insufficient understanding of election law. Therefore, strengthening educational strategies and sustainable collaboration between Bawaslu and the community is necessary to optimize participatory election supervision.
