Abstract

Libraries are learning resources that play a role in supporting the educational process and strengthening the culture of literacy in schools. At SMA Negeri 2 Kuwus, the library has not been running optimally because the member data management system, collection management, recording of book borrowing and return transactions are still done manually, causing work inefficiencies, potential recording errors, delays in report preparation, and weak supervision of collection availability. This study aims to design and implement a web-based library information system as an integrated solution to improve management effectiveness and service quality. The system was developed using the Laravel framework with the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and applying the Waterfall method. The advantage of the system lies in the use of QR Code technology in book borrowing and return transactions, which can speed up the process and improve data accuracy. The implementation of two levels of user authorization supports more structured system management. The results of the system implementation show an increase in administrative efficiency, faster transaction management, a reduction in recording errors, and the presentation of reports in real-time and systematically.
