Abstract

This research was conducted by Maria Anastasia Ue (31122040) and is entitled “Analysis of the Tourism Potential of Bena Traditional Village on the Community Economy in Tiworiwu Village, Jerebu District, Ngada Regency.” The purpose of this study is to identify the tourism potential of Kampung Adat Bena, analyze the contribution of tourism to the economy of the indigenous community, examine the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting tourism development, and formulate sustainable tourism development strategies. Kampung Adat Bena possesses well-preserved cultural and natural resources that have strong potential to be developed as a cultural tourism destination capable of improving community welfare without neglecting the preservation of traditional values. This study employed a qualitative research approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis to describe the factual conditions of tourism potential and management in Kampung Adat Bena. The results indicate that Kampung Adat Bena has strong cultural and natural tourism potential, including natural landscapes, traditional beliefs and customs, the Reba ceremony, traditional houses such as Ngadhu and Bhaga, traditional cuisine, handicrafts, and historical heritage objects. Tourism contributes to the local economy by creating business opportunities such as tour guiding services, community-based accommodation, and the sale of woven fabrics and handicrafts. Tourism development is supported by the roles of government, management institutions, and active participation of the indigenous community; however, it still faces challenges related to limited marketing, human resources, supporting infrastructure, and adherence to customary rules. Tourism development strategies should focus on strengthening the marketing of cultural products, improving human resource capacity, developing culturally sensitive infrastructure, and reinforcing community-based tourism management.
