Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication competence of IMMALA organization leaders in increasing member participation using Aristotle's Ethos, Pathos, and Logos theory. IMMALA is an organization engaged in student and youth affairs, aiming to improve human resources quality. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with organization leaders and IMMALA members, as well as participatory observation. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and data triangulation techniques. The results show that IMMALA organization leaders have used effective communication strategies to increase member participation, namely by building credibility (Ethos) through transparency and accountability, motivating members through emotions and empathy (Pathos), and conveying clear and logical information (Logos). However, there are still some weaknesses in the communication strategy used, such as the lack of information technology utilization and the lack of evaluation of communication effect iveness. This study provides recommendations for IMMALA organization leaders to improve their communication competence in increasing member participation, as well as contribute to the development of organizational communication theory.
