Abstract
Thesis Title: The Performance Profile of Guidance and Counseling Teachers According to Principals’ Perceptions at Public Junior High Schools in Lembata Regency for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Problem Statement: This study aims to explore: What is the performance profile of guidance and counseling (BK) teachers according to the principals’ perceptions at public junior high schools in Lembata Regency for the 2024/2025 academic year? Research Objective: The objective of this research is to determine the performance profile of BK teachers based on principals’ perceptions at public junior high schools throughout Lembata Regency. Methodology: This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The data collection instrument was a performance questionnaire designed for BK teachers. Data analysis employed a central tendency formula. Research Findings: The results show that the average score of BK teachers' performance, as perceived by school principals at public junior high schools in Lembata Regency for the 2024/2025 academic year, is 143.66. This score falls within the range of 116–150, which is categorized as good. These findings indicate that BK teachers have performed their duties and responsibilities well, particularly in the areas of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up of guidance and counseling services at school. Recommendations: Based on the research findings as described above, the researcher offers the following suggestions: (a) For Principals: Principals are expected to provide optimal support for BK teachers in all stages of activity planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. They are also encouraged to play an active role in facilitating the professional development of BK teachers through training workshops, seminars, and counseling-related webinars that support the sustainability of guidance and counseling programs. (b) For BK Teachers: BK teachers are encouraged to maintain their positive performance and continuously enhance the quality of their services. They should also actively participate in workshops, training sessions, educational seminars, and webinars in order to update their knowledge and improve their skills in the field of guidance and counseling
