Abstract

Thesis Title:The Effect of Peer Social Support on the Mental Health of Seventh Grade Students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kota Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The problem in this study is whether there is an effect of peer social support on the mental health of seventh grade students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kota Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year.The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of peer social support on the mental health of students at SMPN 16 Kupang City Academic Year 2024/2025. This research is quantitative in nature with a descriptive quantitative approach. The population in this study consists of 172 studentsin grades VII A, B, C, D,E, and F, and the sample consists of 42 students. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this study was simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the t-value is greater than the ttable (-4.231 > 0.312) and the significance value is 0.003< 0.05. The results of this study's data analysis indicate that there is an influence of peer social support on the mental health of seventh-grade students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang City Academic Year 2024/2025. Based on the results of this research, the researcher suggests the following:
