Abstract

Livestock animals in West Sumba Regency are not only kept for breeding purposes but also play an important role in fulfilling cultural needs, such as traditional ceremonies and funeral rituals that are often urgent. Despite this, animal sales in the region are still carried out conventionally, where buyers must visit the market directly or obtain information from people in the surrounding community. This method creates difficulties due to limited information regarding availability, prices, and the condition of the animals, resulting in buyers having fewer options that meet their needs. This research aims to design and develop a digital-based livestock sales information system to facilitate the process of searching for and purchasing animals. The system is designed using the waterfall method for its systematic and structured approach, starting from the requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. This method was chosen because system requirements can be clearly defined from the beginning, making documentation and management of the development process more organized. The system also provides a communication feature between customers and breeders to support remote interaction before or after a transaction. Through this system, Users can obtain more accurate and transparent information regarding the animals being offered for sale. It is expected that this information system will serve as an innovative and practical solution for livestock trading activities in West Sumba Regency and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of animal trading processes in the region.
