Abstract
Title of the Research: "Effectiveness of Village Fund Management in Enhancing MSMEs in Pero Konda Village, Kodi District, Southwest Sumba Regency" This research aims to understand the process of using village funds in the development of MSMEs in Pero Konda Village, Kodi District, Southwest Sumba Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. In this research, the author employs concepts from Richard M. Steers (1985), utilizing three indicators to measure the management of village funds in enhancing MSMEs. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing was carried out through stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research indicate that the process of managing village funds to enhance MSMEs has not been implemented well and faces significant challenges when viewed from several aspects. First, from the aspect of community adaptation, it shows that local residents receive limited support from the village government, only receiving information without concrete actions. Second, from the integration aspect, the lack of coordination between the village government and BUMDes affects business development. Although training provided by NGOs is beneficial, BUMDes managers feel that the training is not sufficiently relevant to their operational needs. Third, regarding goal achievement, this is classified as low. Despite the potential for developing culinary and fisheries businesses, operational challenges such as inadequate equipment, poor management, and lack of funding support from the village government result in losses. The conclusion of this research overall indicates that the effectiveness of village fund management in Pero Konda Village still requires significant improvement. Minimal support from the village government, lack of relevant training, and insufficient integration among related institutions are the main challenges. The recommendation from this research is that the village government should be more proactive in responding to community needs and supporting existing programs. This includes providing adequate funding and paying more attention to initiatives proposed by the community.
