Abstract

Faksiam Trading Company in East Sumba Regency experiences fluctuations in peanut sales every year, causing uncertainty in business planning. This study aims to predict the annual peanut sales of UD. Faksiam using a simple linear regression method based on time series data with sales data from 2015 to 2024, where the year is used as the time index (X) and the sales volume as the dependent variable (Y). The results show that the regression model formed is able to describe a sales trend that tends to increase. Testing the accuracy of the model produced a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 6.17%, which is classified as highly accurate, and a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.615, indicating that 61.5% of sales variation can be explained by the time variable. Thus, the simple linear regression model used is considered quite good and can be used as a tool in sales planning and business decision making.
